How to Claim Scratches?
Scratch reports are processed the same way as if a traffic accident had occurred, where the driver was at fault. In most cases, it is always necessary to fill out a form detailing all the damage to the vehicle. This report must be submitted to us through one of the channels we have enabled so that an expert can assess the damage to the bodywork. After the workshop has prepared the estimate for the repair, it must be approved by both the company and the customer, and finally, the repair is carried out.

Scratch and dent insurance covers the cost of repairing minor cosmetic damage, such as small scratches, dents, and scuffs, to your car’s bodywork.
No, claims made on your car scratch insurance won’t impact your no-claims bonus or your primary motor insurance policy.

You pay the first £15 of each claim.
You can make up to three claims with a one-year policy, six with a two-year policy and nine with a three-year policy and you must use one of our authorised SMART repairers. However, only three claims are allowed per year with the claims limit recommencing at each anniversary of the start date, subject to the duration of cover purchased.
No, but it depends on your definition of custom. The self-healing paint, chrome illusion paint, two-tone paint, vinyl wrap or matte finishes are not covered.Â
If the scratch goes all the way through the paint to the metal, it’s not covered. We only cover scratches up to 3mm deep where the car’s original metalwork isn’t exposed.
Yes – as long as the scratch isn’t more than 300mm long or wide, and 3mm deep, and the car’s original metal bodywork hasn’t been exposed. Read the policy details for exact information, but minor scratches are usually covered.

For our policy, you must use one of our approved bodyshops, and they use SMART. Please note most minor scratches and dents of less than 300mm length or width, and less than 3mm deep, can be fixed with SMART.
